The location was very convenient as it is near the train station and walking distance to other restaurants. The bed was very comfortable. They clean the room daily. They also provide delicious food at the restaurant and the staff are very nice and accommodating.

We offer two room categories. Premier rooms are our largest, featuring a separate seating area and en-suite with both bath and shower - ideal for longer stays or special occasions. Classic rooms are comfortable and well-appointed with an en-suite shower room. All rooms include a flat-screen TV, filter coffee machine and free Wi-Fi.
Yes - a full Cumbrian breakfast is included in all room rates. Breakfast is served in our Lounge Bar and Terrace from 8am to 10am every morning. VAT is also included in all quoted room rates.
Yes - we have free private parking on site, which is rare in Windermere. The car park entrance is on Elleray Road, just off the A591. Our postcode for sat nav is LA23 1AF. If you're arriving by train, we're just a 2-minute walk from Windermere station.
We're right in the heart of Windermere village on High Street - local shops, restaurants and amenities are all on your doorstep. Bowness-on-Windermere and the lake itself are around a 25-minute walk or a short drive. We're also the closest accommodation to Windermere train station at just 2 minutes on foot.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at The Lamplighter. There is a supplement of £10 per dog per night. Please contact us before booking to arrange a suitable room - call 015394 43547 or email info@lamplighterdiningrooms.com.
Standard check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 10:30am. If you're arriving early, you're welcome to leave your car in our private car park while you explore the village. Please contact us directly if you have specific timing requirements and we'll do our best to help.
The Lake District is on your doorstep. Bowness Pier and lake cruises are a short drive away, as is the World of Beatrix Potter. Hill Top - Beatrix Potter's house - is 30 minutes away. Orrest Head offers stunning views over the lake and is a straightforward hike from the village. Dove Cottage in Grasmere is around 20 minutes by car.
