The Lamplighter is run by the Tasker family including Sue and brothers James & Alistair. Sue started off The Lamplighter some 28 years ago and over that time has built a wonderful reputation for customer service and the quality of our product. In the last two years both James and Alistair have now taken over the reigns.

Having been brought up in The Lamplighter we all have an emotional connection to this wonderful building and the surrounding area as well as a true passion for the hospitality industry. Alistair oversees the Kitchen as Head Chef, with an established record over the last 12 years, including Ascot, Newbury, Lancaster House Hotel and most recently at the well known Porthole Restaurant in Bowness.

Whilst James oversees the front of house and again has a wealth of experience having worked over the last 15 years in The Savoy, The Dorchester, Claridge’s and most recently as hotel manager of The Old England hotel in Bowness.  Our absolute focus remains our guests and the quality of the produce that we deliver. With such a wealth of knowledge and true passion for what we do we believe we set ourselves apart from so many other establishments and can only hope that you will afford us the opportunity to welcome you to The Lamplighter Dining Rooms to experience this for yourselves.
